Items
A desrt Items Reference
Survival in A desrt runs on physical items you pick up, pour, swing, and equip—not abstract inventory slots. This hub catalogs fuels and fluids, weapons looted from ruins, tools that keep vehicles alive, and optional Roblox game passes that expand quality-of-life features.
DarkCodes Studio modeled A desrt after The Long Drive-style road survival: every gascan, hammer, and screwdriver exists as a world object with weight and placement rules. Items connect directly to vehicle classes—Cars drink gasoline while EngineD swaps need diesel; Mopeds sip an 8.1 L gas / 0.5 L oil ratio; Buses drain 30 L bigcans on cross-map legs. Weapons spawn primarily in ruins alongside rare engines, forcing you to choose between fighting deeper for a shotgun or retreating to weld a sagging Van door. Tools bridge the gap between loot and mobility, and game passes offer optional upgrades without replacing skill.
The four item categories
- Fuel & Fluids — Gasoline, diesel, oil, water, and portable cans (8 L gascan, 5 L oilcan, 30 L bigcan).
- Weapons — Starter hammer through ruin-tier knives and shotguns for zombie encounters.
- Tools — Wrenches, screwdrivers, and utility gear tied to welding and engine swaps.
- Game Passes — Boombox+, Screwdriver Pro, Stamina Plus+, and Sandbox+ priced in Robux.
How items interact with vehicles and builds
Nothing in this section exists in isolation. Fluids feed every motorized vehicle reference from [Car](/vehicles/car/) through [Bus](/vehicles/bus/). Weapons support [Looting](/guides/looting/) and [Zombie Survival](/guides/zombie-survival/) while you hunt Injection or Turbine engines in dangerous structures. Tools align with [Welding & Repairs](/build/welding-repairs/) and [Vehicle Maintenance](/vehicles/maintenance/). Game passes modify convenience—extra stamina for long drags, better screwdriver UX, private sandbox space—not core win conditions. Plan loadouts before leaving base: two gascans, one oilcan, a water container, one melee weapon, and repair tools fit most Car crews.

Container economics
Container size shapes route planning. An 8 L gascan covers a Moped fill with change; a 5 L oilcan supplies ten Moped oil top-ups at 0.5 L each or one partial service on a Van. A 30 L bigcan is the Bus captain's best friend but awkward to drag through ruins—load it last at gas stations when the road ahead is flat. Mixing fuels is a common failure mode: label diesel bigcans mentally after installing EngineD, and never pour water into the fuel tank. Cross-reference the [Fuel Reference tool](/tools/fuel-reference/) when balancing pack weight versus range.
Use the pages below as deep references. [Fuel & Fluids](/items/fuel-fluids/) explains pour order and engine pairing. [Weapons](/items/weapons/) ranks combat options against ruin difficulty. [Tools](/items/tools/) lists gear for weld and swap workflows. [Game Passes](/items/game-passes/) documents official Robux prices as of community verification—always confirm in-game before purchase. When patches drop, Discord announcements from DarkCodes remain the source of truth for new items or rebalance passes.
